With our sales and office management under control Gary Joyce has been able to increase production output and together with a stabilisation of production, has allowed the company to invest in new and needed equipment and capital improvements. It is envisaged that more capital improvements will need to be undertaken in the future. Currently the company employs twenty full time employees who can be divided into sales and production. As logs arrive in long lengths, they are unloaded and stacked by the loader driver whose role is to keep logs supplied to the two operators of the log Docker. This employee is also responsible for removing cut to lengths from the Docker and then loading them onto the in feed of the peeler. After the posts are peeled, sorted into length and diameters and strapped into determined numbers in bundles the loader driver transports them to drying areas within the site The Trellis manufacturing section employs one person to cut to length the lathe and assemble the trellis to required sizes according to orders. One employee operates the treatment plant. Their role is to treat the bundles, stack them on the draining pad and after they have dried, transport them to their designated rows according diameter and length. A loader/dispatcher loads the trucks for dispatch to customers. This employee also makes up the small orders, keeps the treatment plant supplied with dry stock, maintains the retail area and delivers small orders within the town. |
